Dr. Scott Carter received his DMD degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 2009. After graduating first in his class, he completed a hospital-based General Practice Residency at the Medical College of Georgia. There he received extensive training in many complex restorative and surgical procedures including dental implant placement/restoration, wisdom teeth extractions, dental alveolar surgery and IV sedation. Dr. Carter is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and is licensed by the Georgia Board of Dentistry to administer IV conscious sedation in office.

He currently teaches part-time at the Medical College of Georgia as an instructor in the General Practice Residency, where the latest techniques and concepts are emphasized. Additionally, he is an instructor in the Dental Implant Course at the Medical College of Georgia. General dentists from around the country attend this course which focuses on the surgical placement and restoration of dental implants.

Dr. Carter was awarded "Dentist of the Year" at the Gwinnett Healthcare Awards in 2017. He is an active member in the American Dental Association (ADA), the Georgia Dental Association (GDA), the Northern District Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), and the Hinman Dental Society. Also, he is a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, the Gwinnett Challenge Study Club, and a fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). He currently lives in the Atlanta area with his wife, Allison, and their two sons, Harris and Jack. In his free time, he enjoys watching Georgia Bulldog football, playing guitar, tennis, hunting, fishing, SCUBA diving, traveling, and spending time with his family.
